Eve Online

I have never, ever been anywhere near a MMORPG in my life. I generally treat those who excitedly try and share with me their latest goings on in Second Life, or latest adventures in World of Warcraft with me, with something approaching disdain. But that is because I am narrow minded and have deluded myself into thinking I am actually pretty cool.... when I am not.... at all!

And as a kid I battered my BBC Model B into submission playing E-L-I-T-E endlessly, right up until the moment I discovered girls were kinda pretty, especially Lisa who lived next door.

Because of this I find the idea of this Eve online thing appealing. It's like E-L-I-T-E only bigger and with real people online.

Anyone here play it or got an opinion on it? Should I dive in?

The problem with Eve is, there is one server. The world is already carved up between certain factions, and the only way a new player can make a difference is trying to work your way into one.

The catch? They all suck.

I wanted to play EVE. Still do, but it's not an overwhelming urge. And I also figure that if I do decide to register an account, that's the end of updates appearing on Coming Attractions.

So I still have no life but this way there's a website for people to read.
