March 3, 2012 - Bloodshot / Neal H. Moritz to produce Bloodshot movie for Columbia Pictures

Fast and Furious producer Neal H. Moritz will make a movie from Valiant Comics' Bloodshot for Columbia Pictures, the studio where Moritz has a first-look deal.

Based on the comic book of the same name, Bloodshot was first published in 1992 by the first incarnation of Valiant. At the time Bloodshot and Valiant were riding high atop the '90s comic boom, selling over 900,000 copies of Bloodshot #1 alone. The title went on for another 70 issues before succumbing to falling sales and financial trouble for Valiant's parent company, Akklaim.

The Bloodshot movie announcement was accompanied by the news that Jeff Wadlow will pen the screenplay.
