The 1970s TV series UFO is being developed into a feature film. Created by Gerry Anderson (Thunderbirds, Space: 1999), the UFO movie will be directed by Matthew Gratzner, a special effects supervisor making his directorial debut. Gratzner began his career working on the 1996 thriller Broken Arrow and has worked on over three dozen films including the first X-Files film, the 1998 version of Godzilla, Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds, The Fountain and Iron Man. A screenplay by Ryan Gaudet and Joseph Kanarek has already been completed and pre-visualization/concept artwork is being developed at Gratzner's FX company to attract investors.

"The story, characters and situations Mr. Anderson created in UFO are timeless and engaging," Gratzner told Variety. "My vision is to utilize visual effects as a supportive storytelling device that draws audiences into this universe."
