April 3, 2012 - Jobs / project announced
Scooped on Tuesday, April 3, 2012
An independent film production company is rapidly assembling the first movie to go into development about the life of Apple Computer co-creator Steve Jobs. Titled simply Jobs, the project has Two and a Half Men star Ashton Kutcher attached to play the young tech genius. Filming is now scheduled to commence in May.
The movie is being financed by Five Star Institute, owned by Mark Hulme (and who will receive a producer credit on Jobs.) Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote) is directing from a script by Matt Whiteley.
The movie will focus on the rise of Steve Jobs, from being looked at by society as a dropout and hippie, to building the first Apple computer in his family's garage to growing Apple Computer to be a competitor for the PC market in the early 1980s.
