Trailer #2: G.I. Joe - Retaliation

The clock is ticking down until the official start of the summer movie season, which makes it the right time for Paramount to unspool a second trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation. This trailer gives you more meat about the sequel's storyline, and it looks like the filmmakers are doing a pretty smart job of threading what happened in the first G.I. Joe movie into this new one, while also cutting out the extra fat.

Let's watch and see what the movie toys look like, shall we?

 

What I like about the Retaliation pre-release buzz is that this looks like it will be a better second G.I. Joe movie than the Rise of Cobra one from three years back. From the casting decisions (Bruce Willis as the original Joe is bang on) to the set-up of having Cobra own all the cards and the Joes being the underdogs to including several of the first film's cast to connect it with that film, G.I. Joe: Retaliation has the feel of being a redeeming sequel. This could be a movie that makes us look forward to watching a G.I. Joe 3.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation hits theaters on June 29.
