Is this a conceptual artwork for Chris Hemsworth in his Thor movie costume? Collider believes that it is and has published two photos of what they claim are two legit images of the actor wearing his Marvel costume. If these are indeed real concepts from within the Thor production they are of a different art approach than the leaked Captain America costume concepts that appeared online yesterday.
If they are indeed photos of Hemsworth dressed as Thor -- and judging from the beard and long hairstyle, they appear to be real -- the images have been also photoshopped. Thor's cape is the most obvious point of reference that has been manipulated by computer, with an artificial light sheen appearing on the right side of it.

The first officially released photo of Chris Hemsworth in his Thor costume came out today. While the photo provides us with a good foundation as to how faithful Thor's movie costume appears to be to the one the character wears in the comic book, we look forward to seeing a full body shot showing the god of thunder wielding Mjolnir, his magical hammer. Now this is cool: Latino Review landed what's likely the biggest exclusive yet for the Thor movie, that being a spy photo showing the metal suit of armor of The Destroyer.
For those of you not versed in your Thor mythos, Odin, Thor's father, created a magical suit of armor to serve as a guardian of Valhalla. In the comic book series The Destroyer fought Thor several times, coming close to killing the god of thunder. LR's source tells them that in the movie it's Loki that sends The Destroyer to Earth to battle Thor.
The photo shows someone wearing the 9-foot-tall, fully enclosed suit of armor in a remote location. Check it out and see how it looks!

There will be no appearance by Colonel Nick Fury in the Thor movie. During a roundtable held today with the actor, IESB found out straight from Mr. L. himself that Fury is a no-show in the Norse Marvel movie.
"I have no idea. I'm not in charge of making those decisions," said the actor when asked why he wasn't starring in Thor. "I thought I was. They said I was in the trades, and I was like, 'Oh, I've got a job!' And then, I called my agent and she said, 'Nah, you're not in it. They misprinted.' I was like, 'Well shit, they need to pay me just 'cause they put my name in it.'"

Half-a-dozen long distance photos of the vehicles and desert location for a Thor shoot have gone up at Before the Trailer. The production is filming at Galisteo, New Mexico. Unfortunately there aren't any shots of actors or crew people but at least we've got photographic evidence that money is being spent.

A short but interesting interview with Anthony Hopkins came out recently where the 72-year-old Welsh actor talked a bit about what it's like to play the All-Father of the Norse gods, Odin.
"He's a stern man. He's a man with purpose," Hopkins told the Los Angeles Times. "I play the god who banishes his son from the kingdom of Asgard because he screwed up. He's a hot-headed, temperamental young man --- probably a chip off of the old block -- but I decide he's not really ready to rule the future kingdom, so I banish him. I'm harsh and my wife complains and I say, 'That is why I'm king.' He's ruthless, take-it-or-leave-it. Women are much more forgiving; men are not so forgiving. I know in my life, my karma is, 'If you don't like it, tough, move on.' And I move on. I'm a little like Odin myself."

Stuart Townsend has been replaced by Joshua Dallas in the role of Fandral, one of the Warriors Three, over creative differences reports the Associated Press. You may recall that Townsend was cast in the role of another fantasy hero, that of Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings. Before production began Townsend was replaced by Viggo Mortensen over the reason that the former actor looked too young for the part.
Dallas has only a few acting credits to his name with upcoming roles in The Descent: Part 2 and Red Tails. The first day of shooting for Thor is tomorrow.

With Sony Pictures mulling a possible move for the May 5, 2011 release of Spider-Man 4, Paramount and Marvel have decided to bump up the release date of Thor to May 6, 2011, two weeks ahead of the movie's earlier May 20 release date. No sooner than after the new Thor opening date was announced, Disney decided to take over Thor's old opening date and position the fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie in that slot.

Now known as one of the Warriors Three, Empire caught up with actor Ray Stevenson and asked him what it was like playing as a Norse warrior in a realm of gods. "It's fantastic," said the man who played the last Punisher on-screen. "I've tried the suit on, and what they've done is kind of sex him up: he's sort of slimmer but rounder.
"He's got every bit of that Falstaffian verve and vigour, and a bit of a beergut to suggest that enormous appetite, but he's not the sort of Weeble-shaped figure he is in the comics," explained Stevenson. "He's Falstaff with muscles. I've got this amazing foam-injected undersuit that flexes with me. I can't wait!"
