Thursty's Stinky Box Office: Lollipop Kool-Aid Edition

If you're a geeknerd, there's only one blip on your radar this weekend: Sucker Punch.  It's been meticulously crafted to appeal to you, and, damn it, you're expected to want to see it this weekend.  It's Zack Snyder at his Zack Snyderiest.  Seemingly nothing has been left out, and they've been thoughtful enough to make it PG-13 so more people will want to go see it than went to see Watchmen on its first weekend.

Review: Sucker Punch

There is a common and incorrect perception held by the general public that video games cannot tell great stories. Jaw-dropping visuals, yes, and lots of action, sure. But a story that takes the player deeper into the world? Many people that don't play video games think that these stories can't reach great heights because they're too focused on the visuals or the action. In response I point to Silent Hill 2, Deux Ex, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, the Ultima series, the Infocom word games from the early days of computer gaming, and I say to those doubters that they are wrong. There are games that push the art form to a truly interactive, creative level.

Paint the trailer for Sucker Punch

Warner Bros. has released a third trailer for Sucker Punch, this time without any dialogue. The studio is also letting interested artists collaborate on a new feature called the Trailer Painter. This allows you to "paint" over frames of the trailer and upload it to the official site. When fused together the new painted look of the Sucker Punch trailer flows together as one.

New face found for Sucker Punch

After losing Amanda Seyfried to her prior commitment starring in HBO's Big Love, director Zack Snyder has found his new lead actor in Emily Browning for Sucker Punch.
