There hasn't been much news to report since last summer but today we've finally got a trailer to show you from Charlie St. Cloud, as the movie's title has now been changed to. Universal Pictures has scheduled this one for an October 15, 2010 opening.

Zac Efron has departed starring in the remake of Footloose and is in contract talks to headline The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud for Universal Pictures and Marc Platt Productions. Based on the 2005 novel by Ben Sherwood, the High School Musical star would play a young man who sees the spirit of his deceased younger brother Sam every day at the cemetary where he is buried. Burdened by guilt at having a direct hand in the accidental death of his brother, Charlie pays penance by playing ball every day with Sam and not living his life until the day Charlie meets with a strange woman and begins to develop romantic feelings for her. Does Charlie deserve happiness and what will happen to Sam if Charlie moves on with his life?
