Siobahn Magnus Booted From American Idol
April 28 saw Siobahn Magnus unceremoniously dumped from American Idol. The American Idol results April 28 episode put Mike Lynche, Siobahn Magnus, and Casey James within the bottom three, but Siobahn turned out to be the bottom one. There was no save for her, so the contestant from Marstons Mills, Massachusetts, (an alliterative place to come from) was sent packing. She got drop kicked out the backdoor back to Martsons Mills Massachusetts.
Mighty Siobahn Magnus has struck out
The bottom 3 was not usual territory for Siobahn Magnus, though she had some off nights. This was a bit of a shock. This year's most original performer was Siobahn, far and away. Despite that it may have been expected that she would not win, it was a shock to see her sent home in such a seemingly unceremonious fashion.
Then there were five
The remaining contestants are Mike Lynche, Aaron Kelly, Casey James, Lee DeWyze, and Crystal Bowersox. This year had earlier been predicted as a girls’ year by Randy Jackson, but the guys rallied. The irony here is that Mike Lynche, or Big Mike as he’s been affectionately dubbed, has been within the bottom three almost consistently. Casey James is also starting to get a bit old. Crystal Bowersox, or Mamasox as she’s been nicknamed, appears to be the hands down favorite to win, and just a little quick cash on her to win would be a safe bet.
The viewer’s sound off
To be fair, Siobahn had slipped a bit. Her version of "Any Man of Mine" was a step in the right direction, but too little too late. She was getting a little screechy. Her power was unquestionable, if you saw her version of "Paint it Black" you know she's got the talent, but it is the week to week that counts. That is exactly where she fell short, and also the performer on American Idol season nine that was the closest to interesting is going home.
