Written and directed by Oren Peli, Paranormal Activity opened last week in 12 selected markets. Made for a ultra-low budget cost of just $17,000, the film has earned $77,000 in its first three days. The movie has received lots of high praise from online horror outlets for its creepy "you are there" approach to a young couple recording what appears to be genuine ghostly phenomena in their new home.
