September 14, 2010 - Day of War / project announced

Hidalgo screenwriter John Fusco will adapt Cliff Graham's forthcoming Day of War novel into a screenplay. The book will be published next spring by HarperCollins and is a fictional retelling of David, the second king of Israel as a young man. David L. Cunningham (The Road to 9/11) will direct the movie.

"Cliff has written a dynamic series that is highly cinematic," Cunningham told The Hollywood Reporter. "He has found a fresh, inspired take on the ancient story of King David and his lethal outcasts, the Mighty Men, that has stood the test of time for thousands of years. The gritty characters, their complicated lives and the supernatural themes make for an exciting combination."

The movie will be shot in 3D.
