Zack Snyder has won the job of directing the next Superman movie.
The director confirmed Deadline's scoop to them this afternoon. "I've been a big fan of the character for a long time, he's definitely the king of all superheroes, he's the one," Snyder relayed to the site. "It's early yet, but I can tell you that what David [Goyer] and Chris [Nolan] have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I've always felt he was kind of awesome. I'll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it."
Snyder has developed into a director of power at Warner Bros., Superman's studio. He brought to cinematic life Frank Miller's graphic novel 300, which was a big hit for the studio three years ago. In 2009 Snyder delivered Watchmen, considered to be the greatest comic book of all-time, which received mixed reviews but broke even financially. Snyder's latest film is the CG animated Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.

If Zach Snyder's 300 were a human being, it would be Kid Rock.
