In an article focusing on Hollywood's recent popularity with turning children's toy lines into blockbuster movies, The Wall Street Journal breaks word that Star Trek director J.J. Abrams is in negotiations to produce a movie based on the Micronauts toy franchise. No other information was given about which studio, if any, the project was set up at or if any of Abrams' other collaborators would be assisting him on this new project.

First released in Japan in 1974 and called Microman, the space age-looking figures and vehicles were imported by Mego and rebranded Micronauts in the mid-1970s. [Full story]
