Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer films are reteaming with Deja Vu screenwriters Bill Marsilii and Terry Rossio on an action/sci-fi project called Lightspeed. The studio paid low seven figures against $3.5 million for the screenplay. Disney is considering Lightspeed as a tentpole film as well as a possible 3D project.

Rossio, who is one-half of the Pirates of the Caribbean screenwriting team, will also executive produce the movie. The story is set in the future when pilots from Earth compete in a galactic racing event. The main character is a young pilot who's made Earth's racing team and races across a galaxy on the knife's edge of falling into interstellar war.
