James Watkins will write the script and direct Methuselah, a new action-adventure project set up at Warner Bros. Harry Potter's David Heyman will produce the film. Like the long-lived Biblical man of of the movie's title, the hero of Methuselah is a man who ages at an incredibly slow rate, allowing him to amass a fantastic array of survival skills over his centuries of experience.

"What I wanted was to come up with an adrenalized thriller that has a bit of intelligence and resonance," Watkins told Variety. Years earlier the writer/director worked for Heyman's production company as a development executive and it was that friendship that brought Watkins' pitch to the attention of his former boss, and then to the attention of the studio.
