June 19, 2011 - Halloween 3D / release date announced

The studio has announced Halloween 3D for a October 26, 2012 release. If the Weinstein bros. want to make that date you can expect casting and director announcements in the next few months.

as long as it's not a remake of H3: Season of the Witch, i'll buy into it... i just finished watching Rob Zombie's Halloween II (which many people panned) I really did not think it was as bad as they were all saying, although without Rob Zombie helming, it isnt likely we'll have Tyler Mane (Michael Myers), Malcolm McDowell (Loomis), Brad Dourif (sheriff Lee Brackett) or Sheri Moon Zombie (Deborah Myers) back and their roles were critical to linking both movies that preceeded this 3rd one.... so if you're planning on doing away with the rest of the cast... who really cares about getting Scout Tayler-Compton back as Laurie Strode?
