July 25, 2008 - Dark Knight / commentary on Iraq War?
Scooped on Friday, December 26, 2008
A week after The Dark Knight’s release, producer/screenwriter (Don’t Say A Word) and Edgar-winning novelist (Empire Of Lies) Andrew Klavan says that “[t]here seems to me no question that the [film] currently breaking every box office record in history is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war.” No, really. Seriously.
Read Klavan’s entire article and see if you agree with his findings. Then read Variety writer Brian Lowry’s response to this and similar arguments. Then listen to Dennis Miller’s interview with Klavan. Then cry a little.
