The Swollen Goiter of God sends us this scoop about The Official Film Companion book for Watchmen and it (and our scooper) spill the details about the ending of the film. We've placed that part of Goiter's scoop behind our curtain of spoiler protection so if you don't want to know how it all goes down in the film you'll still be safe to read Goiter's scoop!

"I've thumbed through The Official Film Companion. Amazon claims it does not ship out until 10 February 2009, but about twenty copies of it were displayed pretty prominently at my local comic shop. You may want to go to your comic shop to see if your comic shop's situation doesn't differ all that much from my comic shop's situation. If it happens that your comic shop is mine, too, then I can almost guarantee that your comic store will have a copy or two left. It appears...

Grr! Typos! Missing periods! And I said "comic store" when I meant "comic shop." This would be fine if I hadn't already said "comic shop," like, a dozen times.

I have to stop posting when I haven't slept in days.

Well, if I were to stop posting under those conditions, it would mean posting very, very little. (Everybody wins!)

I went back to the comic shop, and looked back through the books, and it occurred to me that I lumped both The Official Film Companion and The Art of The Watchmen together. While there is a panel or two from [SPOILER]the Gibbons rendering of the new ending[/SPOILER], the entire sequence is in The Art of The Watchmen.

For the life of me, though, I can't remember which book the stills from the Black Freighter cartoon are in.
