There is another new production blog entry for Watchmen to make note of and director Zack Snyder is back to share another insight into the making of his movie and this time he talks about the importance of storyboards. Snyder illustrated his own 'boards for Watchmen (that's 2,581 individual frames in case you wanted to know) and constantly refers back to them multiple times throughout any given day. He also took the unusual route of distributing his storyboards to each department so that his original vision of the way he wants to film the scene remains intact. "The boards often spur discussions that raise important questions," Snyder explains in the update. "Many times the answers to these questions are crucial to a successful shoot."
Two examples of Snyder's storyboards as well as the related panel from the original Watchmen can be viewed on the site.
