A report on the Coming Soon website earlier this week linked the material girl to play an amazonian princess. An anonymous scooper told the site that WB wants Madonna to play the title role in the movie, with Brett Ratner (Rush Hour) as its director. We caution this is an unconfirmed report, just like the many other reports of casting considerations. Just last month a representative for Silver Pictures told the Comics2Film website that the movie is still in the early scripting stages and casting is the furthest thing from anyone's mind.

  This should help the anonymous scooper out who told us they heard actress Brandy Ledford, of Baywatch Hawaii, is up for the Wonder Woman part. We agree 100% with C2F that no real casting calls have been held for the part, just perhaps the odd name batted around in development meetings. One last tidbit to make us the completist on this particular movie: the domains www.wonderwomanmovie.com and www.wonderwomanthemovie.com were registered last August by Warner Bros. While it doesn't mean anything is necessarily happening with the development of the WW movie (similar domains were registered for Batman 5 and Batman Beyond films in development), it shows you WB is covering all the bases. The straightforward www.wonderwoman.com domain takes you to the DC Comics site, while the previous two domains drop you off at the Warner Bros. main doormat page.
