December 15, 2008 - New Moon - release date announced

Summit Entertainment has announced a November 20, 2009 release date for New Moon, the sequel to Twilight. With the date finally revealed Summit has set two bars: first, to have the second movie in Stephenie Meyer's book series completed and in theaters within one year of the release of Twilight; and second, it it seeking to replicate the box office dominance it enjoyed last month over the Thanksgiving weekend.

Presently there are three other major releases that have staked out the 11/20/09 weekend to open: MGM's Three Stooges movie, Sony's animated Planet 51 toon and Warner Bros. update of Sherlock Holmes.
