August 30, 2010 - Wolverine 2 / Darren Aronofsky joins contenders

Deadline's Mike Fleming is now reporting that Darren Aronofsky has joined David Slade as contenders to direct Wolverine 2. Fleming also adds that Robert Schwentke is now out of the running.

Slade met with Hugh Jackman this past weekend on the set of Real Steel to talk about the project. Aronofsky, who directed Jackman in The Fountain, might not have the edge that Slade has after turning in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which earned big bucks for Summit Entertainment.
