The completely amateur psychologist in me thinks that this points to an unhealthy internal connection between women you don't think are pretty cool, intelligent and interesting and little Jake and his special purpose.

That's not true.  I think kah is interesting and cool.  I want her badly.  I can't bring myself to be ridiculously rude to Tara Perry any more because she's such a sweetheart, but were there any pr0n of her....or Pond. MUST HAVE POND!

You probably thought you'd feel the same way toward Sasha Grey. But then when you got it, you didn't.

It might be straight jacket time. Just sayin'.

No...don't think so.  Maybe it's just that so many of her videos seem to involve her gagging or the camera trying to zoom up her ass.  Not really my thing.

Ok, well that was information I didn't have.

As far as the gagging goes, she's young.  Those porn cocks will eventually rid her entirely of that reflex.  At least we know she was never bulimic.

Also, I don't think the cameras are zooming on the ass.  They're zooming on the vagina those porn cocks are stuffing.  The ass is just so close that it gets in the shot, too.

I suppose the cameras *are* zooming on the ass whenever those porn cocks are stuffing the ass, specifically.

We're talking about Sasha Grey, right?   Just thought I'd make sure we're not talking about Tara Perry, Karen Gillan, or kah.

Who's Tara Perry?

Tyler Perry before the sex change.

So Tara Perry was what we called Tyler Perry when Tyler Perry had a dick?

I meant after the sex change?

Tara Perry is definitely a movie nerd like the rest of us. She did a little regular or semi-regular segment on Mania called "The Movie Maven."  You can find them on youtube.  She recently took over the role of "Marina" on The Fresh Beat Band (for those of you with kids).  Her episodes start airing sometime next month, I think.

Anyway, here's a "Maven," where I was name-dropped:

She also does Hammer Improv in LA with some of the people from The Guild.

Captain Jack is the Face of Boe????? Don't get me wrong, I really kinda like the idea, but it gets a wtf (???) nonetheless.

I think it was a Russell T. Davis requirement to tie it up, but didn't give the idea the thought, development or screentime it deserved.

I give you Tara Perry and you comment on The Face of Boe?!  It's like KV got hold of your accounts or something.

That aside, I thought the reveal was amusing and was fine with it, but it definitely was completely out of left field.

Yeah exactly, I had to rewind after the first time because I was laughing so hard. It was neat, but wouldn't the Face of Boe at some point have said "Doctor, you used to know me as Captain Jack"?

It works for me better than most of The Master episodes did, to tell the truth. I noticed they made a point of showing some chick's red finger nailed hand picking something up from The Master's ashes. I presume I haven't seen the last of him? Onwards to season 4!

I think he did.  It wasn't the main plot of that story.  It was just a fun little aside.  We already know Jack can't die.  Who knows what he's going to be like 5 billion years in the future.  Who knows how he got that way?  Doesn't matter.

That's the best part of Doctor Who.  It requires you to suspend your disbelief to maximize the fun.  If you really start to think about a sonic screwdriver that can do anything, it's going to ruin it.  If you really start to think about how the Doctor can switch a few cables, flip a switch or two, and, yes, sonic it a bit, then it ruins it.  But, if you just sit back, relax, and accept the fact that this time travelling alien with a magic wand just saved the space Titanic from crashing into Earth.  He doesn't have to explain it.  We know he knows how to do it, and that's good enough.

The anithesis of this is Star Trek.  How much more enjoyable do we think Trek would be if there weren't volumes and volumes on the finer points of warp theory and matter/anti-matter intermix ratios?

Lots.

No.  I'm pretty sure the Doctor met the Face of Boe before he met Captain Jack, so.  You know.  Spoilers.

That happened and we all let it happen.

The Doctor may have met the Face of Boe before he met Captain Jack, but Captain Jack would've met the Doctor first as Captain Jack, so when he met him as the Face of Boe, he's already met him. Because (at least as far as I've seen) Captain Jack doesn't time travel. So his history is linear. (Unless I'm wrong. I haven't watched most of Torchwood or any Doctor Who past season 4.)

Jack time travelled up until the series 3 finale when The Doctor took his time travel wristwatch thing. Then he got stuck in a linear history and went back to starring in Torchwood, I suppose.

Hmm, I'd forgotten about that. But I still think it's fairly obvious that Captain Jack met the Doctor before he became the Face of Boe, because he knew the Doctor as Captain Jack, and didn't become the Face of Boe until millions (billions?) of years later.

Oh I agree. Even at their first meeting, The Doctor wouldn't have known Boe, but Boe should have known The Doctor and could have said something. I like the take I read on it (Davies' opinion, maybe?) that said as soon as you definitively say yes Jack=Boe or no he doesn't, it takes away the joke. As it stands now, I don't really think it's that plausible that the Face of Boe wouldn't have said something to the Doctor about his being Captain Jack, but it's fun to think about and was one hell of a swerve, so it works for me.

Yes, but he wouldn't tell the Doctor that becuase it would be telling him something about his future.

And this is why JJ Abrams' Star Trek is so much fun. He amped up the adventure aspects of Trek and toned down the technobabble.
