When it comes to turning hit video games into movies, there doesn't appear to be a game over screen.

Legendary Films has a digital division called Legendary Digital Studios, and the latter arm are the ones developing a live-action movie based on Life is Strange, the hit indie video game that's also critically acclaimed for its storytelling and gameplay features.

In Life is Strange you play as a young female photographer named Max who discovers that she has the ability to control the flow of time, reversing it to cause events to play out in new alternatives. Max uses her time reversing powers to save the life of a friend, and the two of them become entagled in the mysterious disappearance of another teen from their hometown of Arcadia Bay.

It's a little bit like Twin Peaks meets The CW programming block, but by the way of quantum mechanics.

The evolution of the Life is Strange movie is still very early in its infancy. No writer has been hired yet to adapt the Square Enix video game, and no director attached to the project so far.

Legendary Digital has also rebooted the old Sid and Marty Krofft TV kids show Electra Woman & Dyna Girl, casting two popular YouTube female celebs in the updated roles. Their parent company made and released the expensive Warcraft video game movie adaptation this summer, which has netted bigger box office returns from China rather than from the US.
