Has the supervillain for the Justice League movie been revealed?
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Monday, December 3, 2012

According to Latino Review, the baddie that will plague Superman, Batman and the other members of Warner Bros. Justice League movie has been identified.
Darkseid, the alien godlike being in command of the planet Apokolips.
The glowing eyed, rocky-skinned Darkseid was first introduced as a heavy hitter of Superman's rogues gallery. With his insane power levels and nigh invulerbility, Darkseid is one of the DC Universe's top cosmic threats. He can stand his own against an equally powerful adversary like Superman, but against someone like The Flash or even Batman, Darkseid is a freight train.
And I think that it's a mistake for two reasons.
The first is the inevitable comparison the public and online savvy will make to WB's Justice League movie and Marvel's established Avengers movie franchise. The first Avengers not just cemented the concept of a collection of big screen superheroes, and the second reason is that The Avengers movie also introduced a mystery villain at the end of the film. While unnamed in the film, the baddie is Thanos and will likely make appearances in the Phase Two portion of new Marvel movies (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers 2, etc.) It doesn't help that Thanos, with his purple skin, glowing eyes and rock-like face, looks similar to Darkseid.
If Latino Review's report pans out, we'll have the opportunity to see if Warner Bros. can find other substantial differences between their superhero ensemble movie and the other guy's.

The funny thing is that Starlin has admitted that his Thanos design was inspired by Kirby's Darkseid design. (Well, he insists that the original design was inspired by Metron, but that Roy Thomas encouraged him to retool the design to look more like Darkseid. He half admits it, then, and pulls in Thomas as an accomplice.)
