It's been less than a year since David E. Kelley tried to bring Wonder Woman back to the small screen. While Kelley's version of the DC Comics heroine wound up being made into a pilot episode that starred Adrianne Palicki, it wasn't given the greenlight by NBC. But now there's a new attempt brewing to bring the Amazonian back onto the airwaves, and this time it's being developed for The CW Network.

The same network that had huge success with Smallville, telling the formative years of young Clark Kent before he became Superman, now is eyeing a Wonder Woman show with the working title of Amazon. Allan Heinberg, a writer who's written for the actual Wonder Woman comic book as well as TV shows like Gossip Girl, is penning the pilot script. Supposedly, Heinberg's take is to retell the origins of Wonder Woman (presumably her Amazonian upbringing and such) while also updating the character for a modern day believability...or as much as one passes for characters on CW shows.

DC Comics has reimagined the character twice in the past three years. Given that the last attempt to make a live-action Wonder Woman happened very recently, it seems that someone at Warner Bros. really wants to see an actress playing Diana of Themyscria and fight bad guys with her golden bracelets.
