Marvel mystery movie moves release date in summer 2014
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Whatever it is that Marvel Studios has planned for showing us in the summer of 2014, it just got moved a little bit back. The untitled Marvel movie, which is heavily rumored to be the cosmically supercharged Guardians of the Galaxy group, has had its release date moved from May 16 to its new berth, August 1, 2014.
Several online outlets have heard that Marvel will officially announce the Guardians of the Galaxy movie during their presentation next week at Comic-Con. Marvel has already promised to talk about Iron Man 3 and the sequels to Thor and Captain America there, and likely mention what their plans are for Avengers 2.
But there is also the possibility that Marvel could greenlight Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie. The director recently commented that he had shot some test footage for Marvel, which created speculation that maybe Marvel was finally ready to move Wright's movie into production.
Then again, Guardians of the Galaxy would sync up with the recent cosmic roadwork Marvel's done with its Avengers and Thor movies. Personally, I can't see how they'd believably pull off that raccoon-looking member of the Guardians group, but I'd be willing to see what it'd look like on-screen.
Saturday, July 14 is the day Marvel has Hall H booked for their event. Until then, speculate away and let's keep hope alive for a real wild card from the Marvel comics universe to be played -- Alpha Flight the movie!
