back when I was buying the season sets of TNG, they were $100 a pop. At least I got the entire run of Farscape for about $70.

Star Trek: The Next Generation headed for Blu-ray
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Saturday, October 1, 2011
If you're a fan of Star Trek: The Next Generation and you've been waiting for its arrival on Blu-ray, then I have both good news and bad news to share with you.
The good news is that a Blu-ray release of TNG in the planning stages and will happen sometime in 2012. The bad news is that before it comes out, there will first be a testing of the waters by Paramount Home Entertainment with a release of four popular episodes of the series on Blu-ray.
It's called Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Next Level, and Paramount will release the four episode disc on January 21, 2012. The disc contains 1080p HD presentations of four episodes: the two-part "Encounter at Farpoint" pilot episode, a third season episode called "The Inner Light" which remains one of the series' best liked episodes, and "Sins of the Father", a Klingon-centered episode from the fifth season.
The work at transferring the episodes to high definition is being supervised by Michael and Denise Okuda, who worked on The Next Generation as visual consultants, as well as remain part of the franchise's shepherding team. Special effects will be recompositioned and not upconverted from videotape, and audio will be presented in 7.1 DTS Master Audio.
The disc will go on sale for the suggested retail price of $21.99. Sometime later in 2012 Paramount wants to then release the first season of The Next Generation on Blu-ray, and likely those episodes will also get the same attention as the ones in The Next Level pack.
I was just thinking I should wear uggs while watching TNG.

If Paramount wants to see any success, they really need to figure out their pricing structure. Look at what they offer: 3 seasons of the Original Series are running over $200 on Amazon right now. TNG is $250 for 7 seasons. Compare to 7 seasons of Buffy for $120, West Wing 7 seasons for $150. 8 seasons of 24 is $200.
I'm sure there are some people still buying them, but I've never added ANY of these series' to my collection because they're priced so far out of the normal range - $60 for a single season?! I'd love to have these, but I just can't see why they want so much for so little.
