X-Men: First Class's second trailer - Magneto and a touch of Shaw
Posted by Den Shewman on Saturday, May 7, 2011

The new trailer for the X-Men origin story shows Magneto's childhood, and a moment of Kevin Bacon's Sebastian Shaw.
This second trailer for X-Men: First Class debuted a couple weeks ago, and shows much more of Erik Lensherr (aka Magneto, played by Michael Fassbinder).
While the introduction to this trailer is taken from the first, about 23 seconds in the trailer shifts into showing us Xavier and Magneto's first meeting. Then we flashback to watch Magneto's mother being torn from him as Nazis herded them into a concentration camp, and his magnetic powers unleashed in what looks like a cafeteria. We're shown Magneto's work with the X-Men and the seeds of his diverging path -- such as him firing a gun at, well, us, the viewers (pretty sure that's not a Xavier-approved maneuver).
Other great moments include a shot of Xavier in a hallway limned with flame, and at the one-minute mark there's a blink-and-you'll-miss-him shot of Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw using his powers.
And don't you just love Lensherr's line, "Peace was never an option"?
Check out the trailer in lovely HD right here, then watch the character trailers showcasing Beast, Banshee, Havok and Mystique.
