Young Justice promo hypes special show

Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, November 18, 2010

Next week the Cartoon Network will air a special one-hour show hyping their forthcoming new animated series, Young Justice. Based on DC Comics' teen superhero sidekicks of their major characters, the series won't start to air until January, which is why fans of DC 'toons like Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Justice League are looking forward to seeing how Warner Bros. Animation handles this adaptation.

Young Justice is made up of Robin, a.k.a. Dick Grayson, Batman's trusted younger partner (voiced by Jesse McCartney), Kid Flash/Wally West (Jason Spisak), Superboy/Connor Kent (Nolan North), Miss Martian/M'gann M'orzz (Danica McKellar), Aqualad/Kaldur'ahm (Khary Payton) and Artemis (Stephanie Lemelin). While they are allowed to play alongside their grown-up counterparts, the adult heroes look down on the underage vigilantes striking out on the own and without the grown-ups guidance. Greg Weisman (Gargoyles, The Spectacular Spider-Man), Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood) and Sam Register (Teen Titans, Ben 10) are the producers of the series.

A 30-second promo for the special has started making the rotation on Cartoon Network. The one-hour show premieres at 7 PM on November 26, 2010.

I'm surprised they're using the Dick Grayson and Wally West versions of Robin and Kid Flash. I'd think they'd be using the current people in those roles. They should probably go with Aquagirl as well.

I would like them to at least use Tim Drake robin. Looks like it could be fun though.
