Sandra Bullock accepts her Razzie award

Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Sunday, March 7, 2010

For the past 25 years, the day before the Academy Awards are presented the Golden Raspberry Awards are given out. Commending the very best of the very worst of the past year in film, with their spray painted awards and mocking commentary at the pomp and ceremony of Hollywood, The Razzies are the anthethesis of the Oscars.

On only a handful of occasions have the "winners" mustered their self courage and been on hand to accept their Razzie. In 1995 Showgirls director Paul Verhoeven was in the audience (which really was some chairs in a hotel room) and on hand to accept his Razzie for Worst Picture. In 2005 it was Catwoman star Halle Berry who came up to the podium to deliver an over-the-top emotional acceptance speech for her performance and winning the Worst Actress Razzie. Yesterday it was Sandra Bullock's turn to show how much of a good sport she was and be there to accept a Worst Actress Razzie for her work in All About Steve.

What makes Bullock's show and acceptance apperarance all the more newsworthy is that she could win an Razzie and an Oscar for Best Actress this weekend. The 37-year-old is up for her role in The Blind Side. If she wins the Academy Award for her category, she may very well decide to mention her Razzie win the day before.

Watch and listen to Bullock as she accepts her Razzie and then makes an offer to the audience.
