Olivia Wilde's new position

We all know that actresses have to put up with some pretty slutty expectations if they're to forge a career in showbiz. I'm not questioning the ladies' virtue, no; instead, what I'm observing is the demands that modern pop culture have on a pretty face so that they can grace the pages of a magazine.

Consider the most recent case of House actress Olivia Wilde. She's gorgeous, she stars in a hit TV show and she's got an upcoming movie to hype up (Tron: Legacy). So when one arrives on the set of a photoshoot for Elle magazine and the photographer asks the lady in question to get on all fours, turn her head toward the camera and thrust her ass in the air, all while wearing lingerie and high heels, exactly what kind of acting is being performed here?

Don't get me wrong; if there's a bumper sticker that I want to own it's "Proud Supporter of Olivia Wilde Sticking Her Ass in the Air" but the absurdity of this photo struck me at its face value. It's in the pages of a fashion magazine, not Playboy. I know, I'm about 14 years late to this party (thank you Maxim magazine) but still, what's going on in this photo? And how did the photographer pitch this idea to Wilde?

To all the young girls out there wishing to grow up and become actresses: I've got nothing.

Did anyone notice the red chair in the background? Wait, there's a chair?? Where?

Being the filthy degenerate I am, I really like the, um, artistry and emotion evoked by this photograph. Yeah, that's it. In fact, the only thing that would make it better is if her slip was hiked up past her hips.

As a father of a young girl....yeah. I've got conflicting, hypocritical views. Get stuffed.
