Spec'd: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Tuesday, February 8, 2011

Come April 15 you'll be able to buy Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 on Blu-ray and DVD. With a worldwide theatrical gross of $946 million dollars (the third highest in the Harry Potter film series to date), Deathly Hallows Part 1 is going to be a runaway bestseller when it streets.
To plan accordingly for the demand, Warner Home Video will release a special 9-disc giftset containing all seven Harry Potter films from Sorcerer's Stone up to Deathly Hallows Part 1. That will retail for $134.99 if you buy it for Blu-ray and $78.92 if you decide to pick it up on the old DVD format.
On the actual Deathly Hallows Part 1 DVD you'll get additional scenes. Of course, Blu-ray will come with more goodies including a Maximum Movie Mode that features the movie's cast and crew talking about the making of the film while you watch it; four featurettes including one that focuses on "The Seven Harry's"; and 9 Focus Points that explain in greater detail how a particular scene was brought to life. WHV is suggesting a retail price of $28.98 (but Amazon's got it for $16.99 right now). The three-disc Blu-ray/DVD/digital copy is going for $24.99 right now.
