SDCC 10: Walking Dead motion comic and exclusive con poster
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, July 22, 2010
Two swell news stories to tell you about as the first official day of Comic-Con 2010 gets underway.
First, AMC has published a Walking Dead motion comic. Featuring the voice of Phil LaMarr as Rick Grimes, the series' hero, the Walking Dead motion comic adapts the first issue of Robert Kirkman's comic book, bringing it to life (or should that be undead life?) If you're holding on until October when the AMC TV series debuts, this is a small appetizer that you can digest right now.
Second, Ain't It Cool has debuted the first look at the Walking Dead poster that's being handed out at Comic-Con. It's painted by Drew Struzan, the artist that created the posters for the Star Wars prequels as well as The Mist, the last movie that Walking Dead pilot director (and series producer) Frank Darabont made.
AMC is promoting their new series in full force at Comic-Con. In addition to a Darabont signing event there will also be a preview of the show at the AMC panel held today and a Walking Dead panel slated for tomorrow. AMC has also recreated a set from the film on the floor of Comic-Con.
