Schwarzenegger joins Stallone in The Tomb
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Wednesday, February 8, 2012
The Tomb, a prison-set action movie that had captured Sylvester Stallone to star in it, now has an equally-as-buff co-star, a director and a start of filming date.
Stallone's new player is none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, another superstar action hero from the '80s/'90s. Though Arnie's attempt to resuscitate his movie career has taken a couple of big hits since he stepped down as governor of California, he's also appearing with Stallone in The Expendables 2 and is filming Kim Ji-woon's first English picture, The Last Stand.
Schwarzenegger will play a prisoner named Church in The Tomb. Described as a "complex inmate", Church finds himself in the strange position of being a voice of reason as the inmates rebel inside the maximum security fortress. Also inside is Stallone's Ray Breslin, the architect that designed the prison and who now has been wrongly imprisoned inside his own invention. I smell a buddy movie happening!
Also nailed down is the movie's director, Swedish-born Mikael Håfström (1408, The Rite). Filming on The Tomb will take place in Louisiana this spring for a 2013 release.

Cool. If only they had done a movie together in their heyday. Or maybe that would be so awsome the screen would explode?
