Schwarzenegger autobiography will be Total Recall
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, September 22, 2011
The title of Arnold Schwarzenegger's forthcoming autobiography about his life will borrow from his career as the world's biggest action star. Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story will arrive from publisher Simon & Schuster in October 2012 and present the former Governator's life from when he was a teenage bodybuilder living in Austria to emigrating to America, winning the Mr. Olympia title and launching his successful Hollywood career.
Total Recall is, of course, the same title as the 1990 science fiction-action movie that Schwarzenegger starred in. (A shrewd businessman, Arnold mayb be also hoping to cash in on the title since a Total Recall remake starring Colin Farrell is slated to come out next year too.)
Schwarzenegger's personal life took a downward turn when it came out earlier this year that he fathered an illegitimate son while wedded to Maria Schriver. When the news broke Schwarzenegger pulled back on several high profile Hollywood movie projects designed to return him back into the spotlight. Schriver has now filed for divorce and the scandal has reportedly driven a wedge between the man and his four children.
It's unclear just how much of Schwarzenegger's life will be covered in the autobiography and whether it will stop short of the events after his reign as governor of California. When asked that question, the publisher declined to answer the question.
