For sale: Cameron's house from Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Wednesday, May 27, 2009

Children of the 1980s will remember every little bit of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the 1986 John Hughes comedy that saw Matthew Broderick playing the ultra-cool high school slacker. Besides giving us a pre-nose job Jennifer Grey and bringing The Beatles' "Twist and Shout" back into the top 20 pop charts it also had a memorable scene inside Ferris' best friend's home of Cameron. If you imagine yourself the ultimate Ferris Bueller fan and would consider relocating to Chicago, would you consider buying Cameron's house to live in yourself?

The four bedroom, four bathroom abode is located in Highland Park, Illinois. Instead of stucco and wood for its walls the Cameron homesteam is constructed from windows, providing you a great view of the surrounding tress and greenspace (and giving your neighbors a great opportunity to see what you're up to at any time.) Built in 1953 the 5,300 square foot home was constructed by A. James Speyer and David Haid and is presently up for sale by Sotheby's International Realty for a cool $2.3 million dollars. Still, in this economy I bet that the owners left some haggle room in there.

If only Cameron's father's 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California were included, this place would be mine. See the listing while it's still active here and check out the 14 photos showing the interior views.
