Sage Stallone, son of Sylvester Stallone, dies at age 36

The body of Sage Stallone was found yesterday in his Los Angeles home. The son of Rocky actor Sylvester Stallone and mother Sasha Czack, he had starred with his father in two movies (Rocky V and Daylight) but was making his own name as a promoter and passionate fan of exploitation films of the 1970s and 80s. He owned his own company, Grindhouse Releasing, and by all accounts had a very deep knowledge of and appreciation for this genre of film.

What caused this sudden and shocking death to occur? The L.A. coroner's office didn't offer any speculation. Prescription medication was found at Stallone's home but there was no suicide note. Friends say that Sage Stallone was an upbeat, positive young man and was planning to get married soon. Toxicology reports will take weeks to process.

Just the day before Sage's father was on-hand at the San Diego Comic Con to promote his upcoming film The Expendables 2. The elder Stallone's publicist gave a statement saying that he is devastated and grief-stricken, and that his thoughts are with Sage's mother.
