All I know is they better stick to the original tv format where every single time a fighter ship fires, we get to see a shot of their hand on the joystick and see them move their thumb over and press the fire button. I never got tired of that (despite their best efforts).

New Battlestar Galactica movie finds its writer
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Friday, October 21, 2011
When news broke that Universal Pictures was close to signing a contract with Band of Brothers writer John Orloff to write the screenplay for a new Battlestar Galactica feature film, I was surprised. It's only been two years since the reimagined TV series went off the air on television, and that reincarnation of BSG is still fresh in the minds of many sci-fi fans. So what is Universal (and director Bryan Singer) doing with Battlestar Galactica?
The answer is, no one outside of Orloff, Singer or the Universal execs developing the project know for sure. Storyline details for the new BSG movie haven't been shared publicly. When Singer was developing a BSG TV series a decade ago (before Ron Moore got involved and made his reimagined version), the idea at the time was to create a Battlestar Galactica: The Next Generation, picking up the story of the surviving race of humans seeking Earth. Singer's show was to feature a mix of returning cast members from the 1980s series and new faces. It never got off the ground.
Orloff spoke with Deadline and shared his excitement about being a part of the new Battlestar Galactica movie. "I have wanted to write this movie since I was 12 years old, and built a Galactica model from scratch out of balsa wood, cardboard, old model parts and LEDs. I love BSG, and I would pass on the job rather than frak it up."
So we know he's a fan of the property, and that would lead me to suspect that the new BSG movie will bear a lot of resemblance to the original 1979 movie and not a lot of the more Earth-y, modern elements seen in the 2003-2008 series.
Singer must also really like Battlestar Galactica because he's been trying to make a go of his version of the show for a decade now.
you know Quasar, I actually ASKED Ritchard Hatch who's thumb that was... he thought it was Herb Jefferies Jr.'s thumb that they kept using over and over!!!
bring on Boxy and that damn Daggit and the Man-in-suit cylons (NO CGI Cylons!!!)
why is it so hard to build 5 or 6 decent cylon suits and use actors to walk around in them?????
also... use a midget for Daggit, because Oragutans are notoriously difficult to work with
