When it came out last Tuesday, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 swiftly became the runaway bestseller that everyone thought it would be. Now the game's publisher and owners of Activision stock are beginning to see what kind of quarter it will be for them with the sales figures from the game's first day in release: Modern Warfare 2 earned $310 million dollars on its first day alone in North America and the United Kingdom.
Analysts predicted that MW2's sales for its first week in release would clock in around $500 million; that nal figure may now come in closer to $600 million when all's said and done tomorrow. Already Modern Warfare 2 has made a new record for the best-selling debut of a video game ever and for new records of Xbox Live and PlayStation subscribers trying to log on to their respective online networks.
A first-person combat shooter, Modern Warfare 2 is a direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, a game which has sold over 10 million copies since its release in November 2007. For the new game Activision has decided to spin off the Modern Warfare setting into its own standalone sub-branch of the Call of Duty franchise, in which the majority of releases have been set in World War II. The game has been receiving good reviews from critics even though it has a short single player campaign.

I have completed the campaign on this. It ends very abruptly with a clear cliff-hanger set-up for a sequel. Yet when you go back to the menu after completing it, it says it is only 50% done.
Have those sneaky guys at Infinity Ward left more of a campaign locked until you have achieved something in Spec Ops or Online Multiplay modes???
