Starting with the September DVD release of Thor, Marvel Studios is releasing shorts that expand their cinematic superhero universe by featuring SHIELD agent Phil Coulson in-between his big assignments.

Dubbed "Marvel One-Shots", these vignettes feature actor Clark Gregg reprising his role as Coulson, the SHIELD agent that was first introduced in Iron Man. Coulson also appeared in Iron Man 2 and Thor and will be seen once again in The Avengers.

A preview of the first Marvel One-Shot, titled "The Consultant", just debuted online. The action takes place after the events of Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk and Thor but before The Avengers. A second short will arrive on the Captain America DVD, and that one is titled "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer".
