After serving her penance in television and supporting film roles, Ms. Veronica Mars is finally getting the chance to lead a movie. Kristen Bell has landed the plum part in You Again, director Andy Fickman's follow-up comedy flick after Race to Witch Mountain.

The 28-year-old actress will play a young woman who discovers to her horror that the girl that made her life miserable in high school is now engaged to marry her brother. The roles of the brother and future sister-in-law from hell have yet to be filled but there's still time left before the picture's first day of shooting scheduled for this summer.

It's also not like Bell hasn't been working but most of her projects have been supporting role work. She's got a weekly gig providing the narration for CW's Gossip Girl show and did 12 episodes of Heroes between this season and the preceding one, plus she had parts in Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Fanboys. Bell also stars in the comedy Couples Retreat, written by Iron Man director Jon Favreau, but that won't be out in theaters until October.
