Julianne Moore to play Sarah Palin

Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, March 10, 2011

Slap a pair of glasses of glasses on her and let Julianne Moore do her acting thing. The Oscar-nominated actress has been cast as Republican vice presidential nominee and former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin in the HBO movie Game Change. It's based on the bestselling book by authors John Heilemann and Mark Halperin, reporters that covered Palin and presidental nominee John McCain during their 2008 run for the White House.

Casting Moore as pew-pew-Palin will give the production a higher degree of visibility, but now the question turns to how 30 Rock's Tina Fey will feel about the competition? Aw, she'll probably dig it.

Jay Roach, best known for his feature comedies like the Austin Powers movies and the Meet the Parents films, will direct Game Change. The script is by Danny Strong, writer of the HBO film Recount but better known as Danny Siegal in Mad Men and Jonathan, one of the Geeks of Doom in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

As long as Tina Fey does Sarah Palin complaining about her portrayal in the movie, everything will be ok.

Faster and faster, a nightmare we ride. Who'll take the reins when the miracle dies? Faster and faster till everything dies. Killing is our way of keeping alive. - Virgin Steele, Blood and Gasoline
