Infographic: 50 years of James Bond
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Saturday, October 27, 2012
This month marks the 50th anniversary since the release of Dr. No, the first James Bond movie. During the past five decades we've seen 25 James Bond movies released, two of which are considered outside of the canon that most Bond fans follow, those being the 1967 comedy version of Casino Royale and the 1983 Sean Connery picture Never Say Never Again. And with current Bond actor Daniel Craig appearing in the most recent Bond film (Skyfall), there's been renewed interest in the British secret agent and his government issued license to kill.
An infographic has been created to show just how much the world of James Bond has made and costs. Tallies were counted for the box office clout of the six actors to play Bond throughout the years (Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig) as well as what the top grossing Bond movies are (as well as what the bottom 5 pics are as well.)
There's also related 007 trivia such as the methods of murder chosen by Bond's adversaries (really, Blofeld's favorite way to kill someone is with his kitty?); how much the average MI6 employee earns per year; what Daniel Craig's salary was for making Quantum of Solace; and other fun tidbits of Bond history trivia.
Rest assured that there will be more factual and financial information to present when Jame Bond celebrates his 60th anniversary in ten years, followed by his 75th anniversary which comes in the now far-away year of 2037. Perhaps the infographic created for that time will talk about the cost of housing James Bond in the retirement home for secret agents.
