Glad to hear Hunger Games is doing well. Hopefully I'll get to see it soon myself.

The Hunger Games made $68 million dollars Friday night
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Saturday, March 24, 2012

No one thought that The Hunger Games would be a bomb when it opened. Advance ticket sales were not just brisk, they were setting new records. I've been keeping an eye on the various estimates of The Hunger Games' opening weekend box office, and the conservative estimates were forecasting a three day net of around $115 million dollars.
Well, now the Friday estimates are in and The Hunger Games is going to perform better than those low-end predictions. According to early estimates the late Thursday night/all-day Friday showings for The Hunger Games brought in $68,520,000 from 10,000+ screens. If that interest level plays out all weekend, we're looking at a three-day opening for The Hunger Games somewhere around $155 million dollars.
By comparison, the 21 Jump Street movie (which is doing OK) made $6.2 million last night. It's 8-day total gross is now $56 million dollars. In other words, The Hunger Games made more in its one day of release than 21 Jump Street made so far.
Or, in other (other) words: move over Twilight, there's a new young adult movie franchise in town.

Yeah, and this one comes from books that are acutally good.
Probably won't see this 'til Easter weekend, but I'm definitely seeing it. If my daughter has anything to say about it, she'll be accompanying me.
