Harrison Ford calls Shia LaBeouf an f'n idiot

Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Saturday, July 2, 2011

If there's going to be an Indiana Jones 5, there might have to be a sit-down between Harrison Ford and Shia LaBeouf before Steven Spielberg calls action on the set.

While being interviewed in May, LaBeouf was asked by a member of the press what his verdict was on the poor fan reaction to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. "I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished," he said. "I have a relationship with Steven that supersedes our business work. And believe me, I talk to him often enough to know that I'm not out of line. And I would never disrespect the man. But when you drop the ball you drop the ball. You get to monkey-swinging and things like that and you can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on Steven. But the actor's job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn't do it. So that's my fault."

Fast forward a couple months to now and this month's issue of Details. The magazine has an interview with Mr. Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, because he's got a new movie opening this month called Cowboys & Aliens. When the reporter asked Ford what his thoughts were on his young co-star's comments, this came out:

"I think he was a @#$!-ing idiot. As an actor, I think it's my obligation to support the film without making a complete ass of myself. Shia is ambitious, attentive, and talented—and he's learning how to deal with a situation which is very unique and difficult."

And that is why Indy's got a pistol to go with his whip.

There are unconfirmed reports that someone's told Steven Spielberg about what Harrison said, and his reaction was to put a palm on his face and slowly shake his head.

Megan Fox bad mouths a movie, co-worker, whatever and gets canned for the next sequel. Harrison Ford does it, and will likely get a raise for his next movie. What's the difference?

Megan Fox's first credited appearance = 2001

Harrison Ford's first credited appearance = 1967

If Megan Fox can created and sustain a succefull career for another 34 years, then she can get away with the crap she pulled.
