There's a top secret project that The Hollywood Reporter cracked first mention of yesterday involving Star Wars creator George Lucas. According to the report, the new Lucasfilm movie is a fully computer generated film that is also a musical. It may also be Lucas' first foray into the fantasy genre since executive producing Willow back in 1988 because the story goes that the new CG project involves fairies.
The untitled project is in preproduction at Lucas' Marin County ranch and has TMNT director Kevin Munroe shepherding it. The screenplay is by David Berenbaum, writer of Elf and The Spiderwick Chronicles. It's hard to say what capacity Lucas is serving on the musical movie since Lucasfilm didn't choose to comment on the project when the Reporter's Boris Kit called them up for acknowledgement and a possible official quote from the Flanneled One. Lucas may just be acting as an executive producer as he is presently doing for Red Tails, the World War II biopic about the Tuskegee Airmen, currently in post-production.

I love Willow, so if he wants to jump back into fantasy, I'm all about that! (BTW, if you haven't read them, I strongly suggest the "Chronicles of the Shadow War" trilogy. These are the sequel story to Willow, story by Lucas, written by Chris Claremont)
