TNT has ordered a pilot for a series called Delta Blues that is executive produced by George Clooney. The show comes from Smokehouse Pictures, the production company that the actor and his business partner Grant Heslov own.
As written by Liz Garcia and Josh Harto, the pilot is about a Memphis police officer who also has a night job as an Elvis Presley impersonator. That's not the shameful part; he also lives with his mother. Oh noes!
This isn't the first TV producing venture for Clooney. Prior to founding Smokehouse he was involved with Ocean's Eleven director Steven Soderberg on the HBO series Unscripted and K Street. Both series had short 10-episode single season runs before being axed.
