That TV idea J.J. Abrams and Jonah Nolan had? Turns out that CBS is about to buy it.

Vulture is reporting the news that the eye network has "all but closed a deal" for the show, which we now know the title of: Person of Interest. Vulture has also gleaned that the would-be series is a crime thriller. Considering that CBS is all about crime thrillers (CSI, The Mentalist, Criminal Minds, etc.), such a show would fit right in with the standard programming. And let's face facts too: having the guy that directed Star Trek plus the guy who wrote the short story that Memento was based on will give CBS some much needed coolness with the geeks.

What else do we know about Person of Interest? Practically nothing else save for that it's an hour-long show. There's no word what roles Abrams and Nolan would have on the show, if CBS decides to pick up the pilot that will get made. If the papers aren't signed yet then it's way premature to talk about who might get cast in the pilot. Vulture does bring up two solid points: that Abrams is now a very, very busy man and that Nolan hasn't had any prior experience working in television. That will likely mean a third individual will be called upon to be the showrunner and give the marching orders for the day-to-day battle plans.
