Blonde bombshell Alice Eve is the first new cast member officially announced to Paramount's next Star Trek movie. But who will she play in the sequel?

If you're a Trekkie, then your mind has already raced ahead and cast Eve as the new Nurse Chapel. However, the source that broke the casting news also is quick to report that Eve's character is supposed to be a new addition to the Trek universe. That would rule out her playing Chapel or a younger Carol Marcus, love interest of James Kirk, both of whom were blondes.

While Eve is the first official casting break, there's also the rumor that Benicio Del Toro and his camp are weighing an offer to play the new bad guy in the next Trek film. Also, Variety states that there's a third important role to be filled, likely an older comrade to Del Toro's villain.

Alice Eve was the love interest in She's Out of Your League and in the final season of Entourage. Whomever she's playing, Eve beat out Captain America's Hayley Atwell and Teresa Palmer (I Am Number Four) for the part.
